Every year, the organisation of ISCOMS contributes to charity. This year we support the Ronald McDonald House in Groningen (Ronald McDonald Huis Groningen).
A sick child cannot live without its parents. If a child is ill, it will want to be as close to its family as possible. And if a child has a disability, then we want this child to be able to do as many things as possible. The Ronald McDonald House can provide all this.
Parents, brothers and sisters of children who are admitted to the Beatrix Children’s Hospital of the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG) are invited to stay in the Ronald McDonald House Groningen. The house creates a pleasant environment for these families in a difficult time.
Because the Ronald McDonald House is located near the hospital, parents who otherwise have to travel long distances can always be close to their children and therefore they never have to miss important things.
Each family has a private room and is offered the use of a common living room and kitchen. The families not only get a place to stay but can also find support from the management and the volunteers who are always present and organise fun things and ensure a good home situation. In this way they provide cosy and fun moments, but they also provide support. In addition, parents also find support from other parents who are in the same uncertain situation.
