Brazilian International Congress of Medical Students
Brazilian International Congress of Medical Students (BRAINCOMS), an event at which medical school students from all over the world will be able to present their Scientific Projects, share ideas and knowledge on a large variety of subjects.
BRAINCOMS was founded late in 2011 by a group of medical school students at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo – Escola Paulista de Medicina (UNIFESP-EPM), who had previously attended world-renowned international congresses throughout Europe, where they could experience and witness the exchange of ideas amongst students from diverse backgrounds. This exchange was not only scientifically relevant, but also culturally and socially beneficial. These experiences then served as a source of inspiration and were responsible for bringing the initiative to Latin America. Our goal is to do the same and inspire others. We aim to keep up with the creation of groundbreaking scientific programs associated with the humanization of medical practice and volunteer work programs, as well as to provide engaging social activities that will boost up the interaction among students and we also intend to exhibit our beautiful and resourceful country and our dazzling culture. Each and every little detail is being carefully thought out to allow an easy flow of knowledge sharing, communication and networking.
Over the last couple of years BRAINCOMS has outgrown any of its founders’ expectations. Its brief but consistent history already defines it as a rather successful enterprise. BRAINCOMS rose on its own and has made its presence felt not only in the national but also in the international arena, being the pioneer project of its kind in Latin America.
BRAINCOMS will be a three-day event to be held on October, 20th – 22nd at our very own Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP).
