ISCOMS 2025

Harmonious Healthcare

From June 2nd to 5th, 2025, the 32nd edition of ISCOMS will take place at the University Medical Center Groningen. The theme for ISCOMS 2025 is ‘Harmonious Healthcare’, addressing the global challenges related to the environment, climate change, conflict, and healthcare.

We will focus on the collaboration between the ‘Global North’ and the ‘Global South’.

These concepts refer to the diverse socio-economic landscapes of our world. In the developing countries of the Global South, there is a young and dynamic population with great potential for innovative ideas. Meanwhile, the Global North has advanced technological knowledge, but its population is aging. Our core question is: how can these two worlds strengthen each other in a harmonious and beneficial way? We aim to approach these complex global issues with optimism to find solutions together.

Harmonious Healthcare represents the alignment of various topics aimed at bringing together diverse backgrounds and talents. This is reflected in the following day themes:

Day themes

The Pre-course aims to enhance your research skills. Practical, hands-on masterclasses and insightful lectures will provide insights into the transition of newly conducted research from the lab bench to clinical practice or society.

Tailoring care to every individual. The first congress day will focus on the delivery of tailored treatments, enhancing their effectiveness while minimizing the risk of potential side effects. It emphasizes the unique characteristics of the patient at both the macro and micro levels. While personalized medicine offers many opportunities, it also presents challenges, such as privacy and ethical concerns. How can we ensure that these treatments align harmoniously with the patient’s needs and preferences?

A new era of possibilities. On the second day of ISCOMS, we will examine the latest developments that are shaping the future of treatment. This day will focus on emerging technologies while fostering critical reflection on the balance between technological progress and human-centered care.

Worldwide challenges ask for worldwide collaboration.

This vision will be emphasized on the third day of the conference. This day’s content will address global issues encountered in healthcare. Exchange ideas on how different parts of the world can strengthen each other and discover innovative approaches to make the (bio)medical world greener with greater global equity.

As ISCOMS, we aim to contribute to a sustainable world where no one is excluded.
