ISCOMS 2026

Breaking Biomedical Boundaries

From the 1st to the 4th of June 2026, the 33rd edition of ISCOMS took place at the University Medical Center Groningen. The theme for ISCOMS 2026 was Breaking Biomedical Boundaries, addressing the power of innovation, collaboration and pushing the boundaries within the biomedical world.

At a time when developments were advancing faster than ever, this theme encouraged individuals to push their own limits and explore new frontiers. It highlighted the divide between human and machine, while also creating space for collaboration between the two. Where certain things were once thought impossible, advancements such as Artificial Intelligence and algorithms are playing an increasingly significant role. Additionally, this theme drew attention to the inequality in global access to healthcare and (bio)medical knowledge, as well as disparities between younger and older generations and between men and women.

ISCOMS sought to encourage collaboration across different disciplines, ages, genders, countries, and cultures.
