Sustainability Initiative
This year, we are launching a new sustainability initiative to raise awareness among our participants. ISCOMS is partnering with Justdiggit to restore degraded African landscapes and cool down the planet. Together with farmers, inhabitants and local partners, Justdiggit revitalises ecosystems by bringing back trees, digging bunds and implementing grass seed banks. This innovative approach does not only regreen large areas of land, but also restores biodiversity and improves livelihood security of the local population, which contributes to multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
For just €8, you can purchase a water bund—a semi-circular pit that captures rainwater, preventing it from being lost on dry, barren soil. One single bund can regreen an area of 124 m²!
